Mission
Our mission is to provide parents an alternative approach to learning that empowers them to take responsibility for their child’s education and social emotional well-being, with an objective to increase student attendance and academic success, while decreasing child abuse.
Family First Counseling Services strives to equip parents with parenting skills necessary in the 21st century – the ability to practice positive discipline techniques, learn age-appropriate child development skills promoting positive interactions between parents and children/teenagers with clarity and precision.
Vision
Our vision is for all parents to be inspired, educated, and empowered to recognize their power and be the best version of themselves to guide and support their children’s wellbeing and academic success.
We offer a wide range of parenting skills workshops suitable for parents with students in the TK - 12 grades. Workshops range from evidence-base court and foster care systems approved to traditional day to day skills necessary to support their children at school.
Our parenting workshops provide a diverse and safe environment in which all parents are held to high behavioral standards. Workshop facilitators work in a collaborative relationship with parents to develop a sense of community within the parents, school, and community. Family First Counseling Services places a strong emphasis on parental involvement within the learning process and their child’s academic success; therefore, parents are encouraged to take part in their children’s education through frequent communication with the teachers, participation in school related functions, and attendance in school sponsored parent development workshops.
Our facilitators have many years of professional experience, along with invaluable firsthand experience and knowledge oh how effective these tools are in child rearing. We are passionate about the Family First concept and dedicated to helping your parents understand, learn and grow as individuals withing your site setting.
Family First Counseling Services partners with mental health agencies, schools, and districts to enhance parental involvement in child rearing, increase student’s school attendance and social-emotional learning. Our partner programs include ongoing parenting classes, social work intern placement, social work supervision and coaching for administrators to achieve their retention goals.
